FUTA approves a cut-off mark of 180 and above as its minimum requirement for admission into its first year for the 2024/2025 academic session. This is good news if you score anything from 180 in your UTME score. In this article, you're going to explore everything you need to know regarding the FUTA cut-off mark 2024 and other admission related updates. Keep reading.

What Is FUTA Cut-Off Mark for 2024/2025 Academic Session?

FUTA sets a cut-off mark of 180 for the 2024/2025 admission. This means that with a UTME score of 180, there's a course you can study at FUTA. But the cut-off mark is not applicable for all the courses the university offers.

What's the FUTA Cut-Off Mark 2024/2025 for All Courses?

Due to competition and number of applicants, FUTA raises the cut-off mark for certain courses. That means you need to score higher to study a course like Computer Engineering at the university. Check below for the list of coursed the university offers:

  • Medicine: 260

  • Nursing: 240

  • Mass Communication: 220

  • Common Law: 250

  • Pharmacy: 250

  • Anatomy: 260

  • Physiology: 230

  • Computer Science: 220

  • English Language: 190

  • Biochemistry: 190

  • All other courses: 180

FUTA Admission Requirements

Know what FUTA requires in order to boost your chances of getting admitted into the university. Meet the following criteria:

UTME Candidates:

  • JAMB Score: A minimum score of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

  • O'Level Result: Five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.

  • Subject Combination: Meet the specific subject combination requirements for their chosen course.

  • Age: Be at least 16 years old.

Direct Entry Candidates:

  • JAMB Score: A minimum score of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or a minimum of Merit in the National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a minimum of Lower Credit in the National Diploma (ND).

  • O'Level Result: Five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.

  • Subject Combination: Meet the specific subject combination requirements for their chosen course.

  • Age: Be at least 16 years old.

What to Do if You Didn't Meet the Cut-Off Mark

If you didn't meet the cut-off mark for the course you desire at FUTA, take any of the following steps:

  • Consider other institutions: Look for other universities, polytechnics, or colleges that offer your desired course and have a lower cut-off mark.

  • Change your course: If you're unable to meet the cut-off mark for your first-choice course, consider changing to a related course with a lower cut-off mark.

  • Consider a pre-degree or A'Level programme: Some institutions offer foundation programs that can help you gain admission into your chosen course the following year.

  • Upgrade your O'Level result: If your O'Level result was poor, consider retaking the exams to improve your grades, which can increase your chances of admission.

Recap

FUTA cut-off mark is 180 and above for the 2024/2025 academic session. Boost your chances by meeting the eligibility requirements, meeting the cut-off mark, and applying for the online screening early. The cool thing is that FUTA didn't conduct the post-UTME exam last year. It only did an online screening. The same thing is likely going to happen again.
